Pain Management - T.E.N.S. Devices

ProMax™ – a new, state of the art transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator (TENS) designed with input from physical therapists and their patients. This new TENS device provides symptomatic relief of both chronic and acute pain. The ProMax is easy to use, easy to program and offers new, patient friendly features. Two unique features, the pulse duration compensation and a true strength duration modulation ensure continuous stimulation of sensory nerves' thresholds to enhance pain relief. The "Soft Turn-on" feature automatically shuts down power if an electrode or leadwire comes loose. The leadwires are recessed into the bottom of the case for added comfort. The "Supertwist™" display screen is large and has high resolution characters making it easy to read from any angle. The compliance monitor assists clinicians in determining overall effectiveness of treatment. The ProMax combines intelligence and unique parameters in a more patient friendly, new look for TENS.

Maxima® III – a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator (TENS) that provides symptomatic relief and management of chronic, intractable pain. Maxima III is designed to be a "soft TENS" that is unlikely to startle the patient with intensity settings that are higher than expected. The adjustable electrical pulse stimulation interferes with pain sensations to a degree that relieves pain and increases use and mobility. Lightweight, wearable and battery operated, Maxima III stimulates peripheral nerves that produce pleasant sensations, distracting the patient from the sensation of pain.

SPORTX® – designed for easy use — anywhere, anytime — SporTX breaks the injury cycle, so you’re back in the game faster. It has the power to deliver positive and negative current therapy directly and precisely to the point of injury to reduce swelling and stiffness from muscle injury. The electronic equivalent of both ice and heat therapy, SporTX works like an ice pack to constrict blood vessels and like a heating pad to relax blood vessels. Early intervention increases circulation and brings nutrient-rich blood to the injured area to improve range of motion and provide relief of muscle spasms.

Nuwave® – is designed primarily for the symptomatic relief and management of chronic or acute pain in the low back. The transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) delivers an effective and proportional waveform for a variety of pain relief applications. The small size, simple controls and unique treatment timer make treatments at home or in the office convenient and pleasant. Easy to use, Nuwave’s pre-programmed dose of nerve stimulation is activated at the touch of a button.

SMP-plus™ – a low frequency transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) generates small pulses of electrical current to help control pain. The SMP-plus is designed primarily for chronic pain. The current is delivered through electrodes placed on the skin and stimulates underlying nerves. The result is a mild tingling sensation. Two channels allow it to operate one or two pair of electrodes. The SMP-plus is lightweight, wearable and battery operated, and can be used both at home or work. Patients find comfort in knowing that SMP-plus offers pain relief without the side affects associated with narcotic and non-narcotic pain medication.

EMS+2™ – for conditions requiring neuromuscular stimulation, this neuromuscular electrical stimulator is ideal for use at home. The stimulation parameters can be adjusted and modified as a patient’s condition progresses through the use of a pulsed DC mode, as well as a biphasic AC waveform. It also has an adjustable width or duration, making it ideal for small muscles or muscle groups. The power and programmability of EMS+2 offers a lightweight, portable alternative to clinical stimulators.

WalkAide: A major step forward in the treatment of foot drop. WalkAide was developed by researchers at the University of Alberta. WalkAide simulates the typical nerve-to-muscle signals in the leg and foot, causing the foot to lift at the appropriate time in the walking cycle. The resulting movement is a smother, more natural, and safer gait.
